First of all I want to thank each and everyone that sent me a note on my last Blog about the death that my family had, the messages were incredible and the personal stories people shared with me where so wonderful. What I learned from this is that most of the time when we share our own personal stories from the heart that it touches another life. I want to share one story that touched me so much: I received an email from a wonderful women in the East that told me: "For over five years none of my brothers or sisters have spoken to me or each other, when I read your story about the most important thing is not money, but to let those in our lives know they are special and loved and important to us, I picked up the phone and called each of them personally and told them I loved them and that staying in touch with each other was the most important thing in my life. Each of them told me": "I have been wanting to call each of our siblings but just did not have the courage as I realized how stupid this all was and how many years we have all lost," "The story went like that from each of them, someone just had to take the first step and when I read your blog I knew it had to be me, thank you so much for sharing your story as now we are planning a family reunion and are talking to each other by phone each week." Wow I was blown away with that, and so thrilled that by sharing a message across the country it could open so many hearts who were willing to share their own stories with me. I did go to Virginia and the funeral was done very special by my daughter to make it nice for her two children. Over 350 people showed up, a few for him and the rest for support to my daughter and the children.. She and the kids are doing well, found a new place near the schools to move and are on their way to start a new life. She has a fantastic support system in Virginia so I know that they will be fine. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your messages, and all that you shared with me, each personal story was so wonderful that all together it would of made a wonderful book of heartfelt stories. So on with the SHOW UP stories that have happened and are happening, as who knows you might be in the area where these are taking place and also want to SHOW UP.. One of my greatest SHOW UP events each month are the South Orange County For You and Murrieta For You NAFE Meetings I get to run as the Director of each month, each month the groups grow and bring together some terrific and dynamic women and fantastic speakers. The South Orange County For You/NAFE meeting is always the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Sarducci's at the depot in San Juan Capistrano, CA, and the Murrieta For You/NAFE meetings are always the 2nd Wed of each month at 11:30 for the Lunch meeting and again at 5:30 pm for the dinner meeting,they meet at Carrows in Murrieta, CA and each of these all have different dynamic speakers and great networking opportunities. On Sunday May 2nd on my Diva Business Strategies for Success radio Show on Diva Tool Box radio our guest was Cindy Ashton, my co-host June Davidson hosted the show for me as I was in Virginia with my daughter and the funeral. We have several more this year that we will be doing on a new program we wrote called "SUCCESS UP" that we would like to do for more companies across the US. On May 11th I did a three hour training for the Resource Center for Non Profit Management in Riverside Ca on Special Events and Sponsorships for Non Profits. and on May 18th I will again do a training for them, only this one is a five hour training and will be about Board Training, Board Development, Recruitment, Board Engagement and Assessment. May 15th June Davidson and I an many of my other members got to be a part of the 1st Annual Tea For Me To Be Safe event which benefited Operation SafeHouse in Riverside CA. It was a great event, my business partner June Davidson was the MC, and friend Cindy Ashton was one of the performers as well as the Filipino American Teens from Perris CA performed, and a fashion show was done by new designer LANDO. His company Lando Couture has some awesome designs, so if you are looking to do a Fashion Show you might want to contact Lando at landocouture@yahoo.com as he would like to get more exposure with his creative designs. The tables were each done in a theme by the Table sponsor and no two tables were alike, a video was done of the day which I will post on my blog and facebook page when I get it. A wonderful day for a wonderful cause and I was glad they loved my idea for the tea and ran with it, and now it will become an annual event each year. So already they are looking for sponsors and in-kind donations for next years event if you want more information email fondamcgensy@aol.com she is the person that will be running this every year and she can also use some volunteer help. Giving back to the community is a great thing, and they are always looking for people, donations etc to help their cause. Operation SafeHouse website is www.operationsafehouse.org they also have a Thousand Palms, Ca shelter. Operation SafeHouse provides emergency shelter, intervention and outreach services to runaway, homeless and other youth in crisis. SafeHouse offers youth positive alternatives to becoming victims of the streets. On May 19th my business partner June Davidson and I will be joining RBN on their Luxury Yacht cruise out of Newport Beach, CA. On May 20th I am doing one of the Roundtable sessions for the Women in Business Symposium www.wibsymposium.com at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, idol Mar, CA its a great event that has been happening each year for 18 years, and hundreds of dynamic women show up. My topic will be "Become an Olympic Gold Medal Winner at Networking" On May 23rd a group of us are heading for the Desert to see the Fleet Easton Show . This is one awesome performer he has performed for events I have done and gets a standing ovation every time, He was the desert idol winner two years in a row. Watching him is like attending a Broadway show in New York. You not only talk about showing up but then you give us an entire itinerary of all the places you will show up. it demonstrates how serious you are about that strategy!
