Remember it's Up To YOU to take Action.Category: Places to show up Published: Thursday, September 02, 2010 So SHOW UP opportunities you might want to check out. Remember it's Up To YOU to take Action. I always love hearing from individuals who take the information I send them and SHOW UP whether its on line or in person. I wanted to share an email that I got from one of our NAFE members who took the information I sent to her and many others and took action. Here name is Connie Harryman and she is in the East Coast. "Hello my wonderful Robbie, First, let me say "Thank You!" for connecting me with Deborah Levine, editor, American Diversity Report. With her terrific editorial skills, she helped me create a wonderful article that will serve as inspiration to many. It is entitled, "How a Latina Blogger Became an International Success." It is about my journey from Mexican-American migrant farm worker to being selected as a guest blogger at a major innovation conference in Europe. This is the link: http://bit.ly/9kHhe2 If you like the article, would you send it out to some of your networks so it will continue to inspire many to dare to achieve their fullest potential? Again thank for connecting me with Deborah Levine. It seems we both "showed up." With much love, Connie Harryman Applied Concepts Creativity Creativity Developer C: 864-525-1100 www.AppliedConceptsCreativity.com Unleash Your Creative and Economic Prosperity!" This is the second time Connie took one of my opportunities I sent her and acted on it and it worked. Deborah Levine, editor, American Diversity Report, is always looking for individuals to share their articles I have sent her information before but here it is again. This is the website of the Report http://www.americandiversityreport.com/ It is really important for us all to think Globally not just Locally as in today's world one can connect with people anywhere in the world to do business. So what have you been doing to think Globally and expand your networks. One of the things you always here me say is that it's all about SHOWING UP, well I have a great SHOW UP story that happened to me a week ago. Paula Fellingham the CEO of the Win who lives in Utah www.thewinonline.com, sent me an email of an event that was taking place in LA on the Women's Day Live program that Lili Fournier from Canada is doing on March 8, 2011www.womensdayslive.com, .( As you know Paula is also doing an event that day in ten cities to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of International Women's Day more info on this can be found on the Win website.). So I decided to SHOW UP This fantastic event that Lili put together was hosted by Melanie Griffith, Actor, Philanthropist and Shirley MacLaine at Melainie's beautiful Los Angeles Home. It was a first class elegant event and about 50 dynamic women were invited to attend. I met so many wonderful women, Including Melanie and Shirley and really connected with Fern Field, President of Brookfield Productions, Kelly Breaux of Kelly Breaux Fitness, Liona Boyd who is a guitarist, composer, singer and songwriter, aJuliette Youngblood who is connected with Mark Burnette Productions and Deborah J Richardson the Chief Program Officer of Women's Funding Network in San Francisco and so many others. I always say that Showing Up is like a treasure map you never know what treasure you will find and that day I sure met some treasures. I am so blessed as I constantly get to meet wonderful people, and even at this years Emmy's met some new dynamic people who are now my friends. This was my 8th year of attending the Emmy's, and I was thrilled that I got to get in fellow members of my For You/NAFE Murrieta and South Orange County groups, they were: Fannie Green, Sue Lopez from the Murrieta group and Sharon McCoy and TC Leary from my SOC group. It was a new experience for both Sharon and TC and they loved SHOWING UP. Below is another opportunity I just got in from one of my SOC FY/NAFE members Ardice Farrow, so check it out it might be for YOU. Hey everyone! I thought this would be a great place to share some information I have on a great opportunity for any small business! Next Productions (a marketing and production company in San Diego) realizes that times are rough and that it is hard for individuals to find work and make ends meat. Because of these sad stories, Next Productions decided to start a contest that would be focused on stimulating the economy by driving sales revenue of local businesses and offering individuals new career paths. The contest is called The VP Contest and it is set up as a marketing/sales competition. The VP Contest is done on a city by city basis. In each city 25 contestants are chosen to take part in the seven week long contest. The winning contestant wins a 100k salaried position or 10k cash prize! Although there is only one grand prize winner, along the way networking is established and experience is gained for all contestants. To provide you with more information, here are some basic details: 1) The contest is seven weeks long 2) Contestants are given a new product each week and are asked to market/promote that item 3) The products that the contestants are given come from sponsors of the contest 4) Any local company can contact Next Productions and ask to be a sponsor 6) Sponsors pay a fee to enter the contest but we offer a 100% guarantee- meaning if the sponsor does not recoup 100% of the money they pay to enter the contest, Next Productions will reimburse them! So basically companies have nothing to lose 7) Sponsors can offer jobs to any contestants (so if one of the contestants markets your brand really well you are welcome to bring them on board your team!) 8) At the end of each week contestants are voted out based on their level of performance 9) Anyone can apply, no marketing experience necessary Because anyone and any company can apply for this contest- it offers a GREAT opportunity for the unemployed, currently unsatisfied employees AND companies in need of promotion. Imagine 25 contestants marketing your company and brand for seven weeks... they could make a really big dent! Another interesting tidbit about this contest is that it is being made into a reality TV pilot. The tv pilot is being made for entertainment purposes, but it also comes with the fact that if it does get picked up, sponsors will be receiving even more publicity because their products will be on TV! If you want though, you can of course opt to be in the contest but not be filmed. The Los Angeles contest starts September 13th at the Luxe Sunset Hotel. I myself have not been much of a doctor person over the years. Recently I had to give in and SHOW UP at my wonderful doctors office as I was having some knee pain. While I was there she asked me if I had any other problems and so I thought that I would share with her that I had been having a little breast pain on my left Breast for awhile.
